About Elena Breus

Elena Breus is a mystery author whose work blends the traditions of classic whodunits with a modern sense of humor and irony. Her English-language debut, Blue Spring Hotel, is a closed-circle mystery set in a remote mountain inn, where secrets, lies, and laughter intertwine.

Before turning to fiction in English, Elena published eleven novels in Russian, several of which reached readers through LitRes and other platforms. She is also the winner of a literary contest, further establishing her voice in crime and mystery.

Born in Kazakhstan, Elena has worked as a journalist, translator, and pediatrician, and her varied career informs her characters and plots with both wit and insight. A lifelong fan of Agatha Christie, she delights in twisting the classic locked-room puzzle into something fresh for today’s readers.

When she’s not writing, Elena enjoys spending time with her family and friends—or diving headfirst into yet another home renovation project, driving construction workers mad with new ideas every day.
